ABOUT US

Extreme Dominica is located in the Roseau Valley ten minutes from the capital city of Roseau, and 15 minutes from Morne Trois Piton National Park.

We offer Canyoning tours, guided hikes to Boiling Lake and hikes off the beaten path. For those who are really adventurous, we also offer an overnight experience under the stars. We can customize any tour to your interests, time frame and physical ability.

Our goal is to introduce you to the diversity and beauty of the rain forest, the mountains, the island’s friendly and hospitable people, and Dominica just as nature intended it. There are many trails to choose from, covering a wide variety of terrain and habitat.

We are a small group of local guides certified and instructed by TI Mountaineering, a well-known company in American climbing circles. We have completed Canyon Rescue Training with the Gendarmerie in Martinique. Richard is also certified by NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute as Wilderness First Responder.

We have taken over 10,000 people into the canyon, from ages 6-75, from all walks of life, many with a fear of water and many with a fear of heights. Safety is our main priority and we all have a great respect for Mother Nature.

Richard and Jeffrey, brothers from different mothers, began exploring Dominica’s many canyons about 13 years ago, when Richard became curious about what was above Titou Gorge.  Richard has lived in the Caribbean half his life, while Jeffrey grew up in the Dominican village known for its hot sulfur pools, Wotten Waven. They both have a way of making sure you feel safe and comfortable at all times.  Jeffrey also likes to sing.

Nahjie, Berani, and Akeel were all born and raised in the mountain village of Laudat.  Their boundless energy and charisma for canyoning is contagious.  They all spent their childhood exploring some of the more accessible canyons with the help of telephone wire.
